O/P. iv, 466 pages, 19 folding plates, 2nd edition, [ 1843 ]. The second edition of this celebrated work by Thomas Reid, the famous Edinburgh clock and watch maker. The book is a comprehensive treatise on clocks, watches and chronometers with information on orreries and turret clocks. A very good copy, light foxing to half-title page as usual, pages very clean; the plates generally very good with slight water stain to top edge not affecting text, a few with light foxing. In smart leather binding, skilfully re-backed with raised bands, gilt lettering and gilt tooling to the spine, original boards laid down.

O/P. 24 pages, illustrated, 1928. A clock manufacturers wholesale catalogue, with prices, showing a wide range of English made longcase and mantel clocks as well as French made drawing room, carriage and alarm clocks. The company also sold a range of spring driven 'lantern clocks'. This is a very rare catalogue and it still has the manufacturers information sheet at the front (these were usually torn out by the retailer). Good copy, staples rusted away so pages loose, a few pencil annotations in text, card covers. (Ref: K4295 - G3)
