Penman (L.): The Clock Repairer's Handbook
O/P. 176 pages, 301 figures, 1985. This is an excellent book that describes in detail how to find and assess a clock's mechanical problems and how to fix them. The fault-finding chart is very useful as are the author's diagrams and descriptions of repair techniques. A book of great use to enthusiasts and restorers. Pryce (W.T.R.) & Davies (T.A.): Samuel Roberts Clock Maker
O/P. 450 pages, 129 figs., 1985. The definitive work on Samuel Roberts, an eighteenth-century craftsman in the Welsh rural community of Llanfair Caereinion. Roberts produced about 600 clocks and his Account Book for the period 1755 - 1774 is reproduced as an appendix. A good copy, with good dust jacket. (Ref: BB256)  in stock.

Quill (H.): John Harrison, Copley Medallist and the £20,000 Longitude prize
O/P. 26 pages, 21 figs., 1976. Published in commemoration of the bicentenary of the death of John Harrison, 24th March 1776. An interesting review of the life of the famous chronometer pioneer and the longitude prize. A good copy, card covers a little faded. (Ref: BB328)  in stock.

Rees (A.): Clocks, Watches and Chronometers (1819 - 20)
O/P. 295 pages, figures. The 1970 facsimile of the horological sections of Rees's Cyclopaedia. This book has a lot of information on chronometers, clocks, horological tools, compensated balances, dials and dialling, escapements, pendulums and their compensation, remontoirs, etc. An interesting book factually and historically. S/H. 373 pages, 522 illus., 1990. A very well illustrated book covering all types of longcase clock from circa 1660 to Edwardian times. Well worth having on your bookshelf. A good copy, torn dust jacket. (Ref: BBW240)  in stock.

Robinson (T.R.): Modern Clocks, Their Repair and Maintenance
O/P. 193 pages, 148 figures, 2nd edition, 1943. A book about clock movements produced in the 1920's and 30's with good information on electric clocks and movements of the period. The book has a chapter of drawings of electric and clockwork driven clock movements in production in 1939. Clean copy internally, annotations inside front cover, covers marked. Robinson (T.): The Longcase Clock
O/P. 467 pages, well illustrated, 1st edition, reprinted 1989. This is one of the best books on the subject and essential reading for all collectors and enthusiasts; all editions are now out of print. A good copy, binding slightly loose, with poor dust jacket. (Ref: BB97)  in stock.
