Written by two enthusiasts this is a useful introductory guide to early wristwatches from about 1880 to 1920, their adoption by the military in world war 1, and the main manufacturers of the period. O/P. Seven issues, each of over 200 pages, of Asian Sources Timepieces magazine, an English language trade publication published in Hong Kong. The magazines purpose was to promote the sale of (mainly quartz) clocks, watches and related items (calculators with a built in clock, and watch straps, for example) to the English speaking world. The advertisers are all based in Asia (Japan, Hong Kong, Thailand, Korea, Singapore, Taiwan, Philippines, Pakistan, etc) and illustrate an enormous range of items. The editorial articles discuss the state of the market, what's new, etc. The issues are dated June 1984, September 1987, March 1988, August 1988, February 1989, July 1989 and March 1990 and provide a historical window into the 1980's market for low cost quartz timepieces.
