Fox (D.H.): Robert Hope-Jones
O/P. 285 pages, illus., 1992. Robert Hope-Jones founded the Hope-Jones Electric Organ Company in England in 1892, the business became bankrupt in 1899. Hope-Jones moved to America in 1903, founded another organ building company and committed suicide in 1914. Robert Hope-Jones' brother Frank was the founder of the Synchronome Company, famous for its electric clocks. A very good copy. (Ref: K4734 - P2)

O/P. 23 pages, 6 illustrations, 2007. Robert Mann Lowne and his descendants ran a family business for almost 80 years. The first business was the Lowne Electric Clock and Appliance Company founded in 1904. This paper is contained in an issue of the Lewisham History Journal. Very good copy, card covers. Hope-Jones (F.): Electric Clocks
O/P. 261 pages, 127 figs., [ 1931 ]. This is by far the rarest of Hope-Jones's publications and has never been reprinted. The book describes the various types of electric clock mechanism starting with Alexander Bain and describing developments up to the time the book was published. An interesting copy as it has a few stamps on the end papers, dated 29 April 1931, showing that it was originally owned by the London Midland and Scottish Railway, Signal and Telegraph Engineer's Office, Derby. A good copy, cloth now a little worn to edges and corners. (Ref: K659 - M1)
