A miniature carriage timepiece with a rectangular enamel dial and an oval case. The timepiece has the Jacot ‘parrot’ trademark on the backplate; the latter is also stamped with the Jacot serial number 9752. The serial number is also stamped on the underside of the polished and lacquered brass case. | ||

Henri
Jacot, one of the most respected makers of carriage clocks, worked at 31 Rue de
Montmorency, Paris and took part in the Paris Exposition in 1855 and the London
Exhibition of 1862. The first Henri Jacot died in 1868 and was succeeded by a nephew
of the same name.The Jacot business
