English Satinwood Timepiece c1850

A very small, mid 19th century 8-day English timepiece with engraved and silvered dial and blued steel hands.

The rectangular case is veneered with satinwood on a mahogany carcass and stands on bun shaped feet. The front door is set with a silvered sight ring.

The case has bevelled glass to the top and sides with flat glass to the front and rear doors. The case is only 7½ inches high.

The 4-pillar, movement has a single chain driven fusee and an anchor escapement.
