Thwaites & Reed, London c1825 The 5-pillar movement has an anchor escapement and strikes the hours and half hours on a bell, with strike/silent feature. The movement front plate is stamped T & R for Thwaites and Reed and the serial number 7779. Some Thwaites and Reed records of serial numbers still exist and indicate that this clock was made circa 1827. |
