A good mahogany cased bracket clock with alarm, signed on a plaque to the dial centre Edward Foster London.
The twin-fusee 8-day movement has a verge escapement with engraved back plate and strikes the hours on a bell. The 7-inch dial with date, alarm and strike/silent features, has a silvered chapter ring and brass spandrels.
Case height 17 inches including handle.

An English mahogany 8-day bracket clock with 3-pad top, signed on the engraved and silvered dial Robt. Wood London.
The dial has a strike/silent lever in the arch and a date dial above 6 o'clock. The back of the clock movement is engraved all over with a vase, flowers and foliage.
The case is 16¾ inches high including the handle (14¾ inches without handle). |

A small Regency bracket clock signed on the 7-inch painted dial Grimalde & Johnson Strand London.
The clock strikes the hours on a bell and has a strike/silent feature on the backplate.

An ebony veneered bracket timepiece with pull quarter repeat on two bells, signed on the dial plate J Lowndes London.
The 5-pillar movement (centre pillar latched) has a single fusee with (replaced) verge escapement.
The silent pull mechanism strikes the hours on one bell and the quarter hours on a second bell. The backplate has decorative engraving and is signed in a cartouche Jonat Lowndes London.
Clock case height 16 inches, including handle.

A good mahogany 4-glass mantel clock signed on the movement backplate John & Robert Barker 17 Aldgate High Street 1791. The engraved number 1791 on the backplate is a serial number not a date.
The clock has a 6¼-inch square silvered dial with engraved corners and blued steel hands.
Case size 9½ x 6¼ x 12½ high.

A nice example of a William IV bracket clock complete with its original bracket. Note the good quality carving - crisp and detailed.
The dial of this clock is enamel, not the more common painted dial, and it has the enameler's name - Richard Symes - on the back.

An attractive example of an English mahogany bracket clock from circa 1800.
The mahogany case, with excellent veneers, has a single pad top and an 8" round white painted dial.
The clock is signed on the backplate John Hughes 1801.

 | Richard Webster, Cornhill, London c1820
A classic example of Regency period Gothic - a mahogany lancet top bracket clock with fine brass inlays.
The clock movement was made by the respected partnership of Handley and Moore who specialized in making bracket clock movements for the trade in Regency London.
Richard Webster was head of the family business from 1807 to 1849. The firm was founded by William Webster in London in 1711 and it passed from father to son for almost 200 years.
