The Christie's sale catalogue for the famous Ilbert collection; the collection was sold to the British Museum prior to the auction. Ex reference library, a clean copy with small blind library stamp to plates, spine worn and with title etc added in ink, boards discoloured. Hardback. [Christie's]: Clocks and Watches O/P. An illustrated catalogue of 166 lots with some fine English longcase and bracket clocks including a longcase regulator by William Hardy, London and longcases attributed to Vulliamy and the Fromanteel workshop. The star of the bracket clocks was a musical example by Robert Roskell of Liverpool, the case in the manner of George Bullock. Good copy with pencil annotations, card covers. [Christie's]: Important Pocketwatches and Wristwatches O/P. Many of the best watch sales are held in Geneva these days and this illustrated catalogue of 320 lots includes the exceptional Patek Philippe pocket watch, with one minute tourbillon and platinum case, made for Henry Graves. Other highlights were a unique marine chronometer with one minute tourbillon and spring detent escapement by James Pellaton, and a rare Breguet pocket watch.
